"I am grateful to the entire team at Luis Hess Law, for their patience with me, their constant concern throughout my process, and for all the positive results obtained in my residency case. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking to resolve their immigration status because of their professionalism and dedication."
- Guillermo F.
Early in his career, Michael secured a bond for a detained client facing removal. When that client learned they could return home, the relief was immediate and unforgettable. That moment confirmed for him that immigration law, which means standing beside people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, was where he wanted to dedicate his career.
Today, Michael focuses on family-based immigration and removal defense. Because most cases are decided on paper with limited time before a decision-maker, he approaches each one as a story that must be told clearly and faithfully. Every filing is prepared to reflect who the client truly is and why they qualify for relief under the law.
One of the most meaningful cases of his career involved a 78-year-old man detained at an airport in Texas. Because bond was not available, the only options were to win lawful status or face permanent separation from his family.
During preparation, Michael discovered the client had dementia and was not receiving proper medical care. After months of advocacy to secure treatment and prevail in court, the client was reunited with his family, a moment that remains one of the proudest of his career.
Michael believes immigrants are among the most resilient and determined individuals in this country.
He approaches each case with care and preparation, and clients often tell him they can feel the time and attention he invests in their matters. That commitment is something he takes seriously.
Outside of the office, he is an avid reader of fantasy novels and spends much of his free time attending competitive cheer events, Little League games, and caring for his dog, Maggie.
At Prosperity Immigration Law, Attorney Michael Urbanowich provides steady, thoughtful advocacy for families and individuals navigating complex immigration challenges, guiding them through court proceedings and applications with preparation, clarity, and compassion.
