Matt Gaffron

Matt Gaffron became a lawyer because he wanted work that genuinely helps people.

Before joining the bar, he built an eclectic professional background as a journalist, author, accountant, salesperson, and technical writer. Across those roles, he consistently encountered people who felt left behind by systems that promised fairness but rarely delivered it.

This was an experience that shaped his belief that the law should be used to level the playing field.

"Many thanks to Luis Hess and his firm for their assistance in a process that, thanks to their support, was resolved favorably. A thousand thanks to his entire team for their attention and constant support throughout the entire process."

- Laura G.

Immigration law is where Matt believes that advocacy matters most.

It is one of the most complex and demanding areas of legal practice, and increasingly one where well-qualified applicants face unnecessary resistance. While many attorneys have stepped away from immigration work due to its challenges, Matt sees this moment as exactly when careful, persistent representation is most needed.

His approach is grounded in the plain language of the law. By preparing thorough, well-supported petitions, and by challenging immigration authorities when they fail to follow their own rules, Matt helps clients pursue lawful outcomes even in high-scrutiny or unconventional cases. When necessary, that work includes litigating against the government to address unjust or arbitrary denials.

Matt’s diverse background gives him a strong advantage when working with clients. Years spent interviewing people, reviewing records, and listening closely have sharpened his ability to identify the core issues in a case and develop strategies aligned with each client’s personal goals. He approaches immigration advocacy as a process that honors each individual’s journey, not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Among his proudest achievements are successfully litigating against U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to overturn an unjust visa denial and uncovering a fraud scheme that had victimized multiple immigration applicants.

Through careful document review and investigation, Matt helped recover his client’s losses and contributed to the eventual arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator.

Outside of the office, Matt is a devoted father to two daughters, a lifelong movie enthusiast, co-host of the SeriesRun Podcast, and the author of the novel Nice Guys Finish.

One quote that resonates with him comes from the film Air Bud:

“There ain’t no rule saying a dog can’t play basketball.” In Matt’s view, immigration law often works the same way – if there is no rule prohibiting a lawful path forward, it is worth exploring.

At Prosperity Immigration Law, Matt works closely with clients to develop well-structured, carefully supported cases. His approach blends analytical clarity with practical strategy, helping individuals and businesses pursue immigration goals with confidence.
