Houston SPC Immigration Court
Connected to the Houston Contract Detention Facility, the immigration judges at the Houston Service Processing Center (SPC) Immigration Court handles detention cases from each of the three detention centers located in the greater Houston area including:
- the Joe Corley Detention Facility;
- the Houston Contract Detention Facility; and
- the IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility.
The Houston Contract Detention Facility is under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge, a part of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) are separate from the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and the Houston SPC Immigration Court.

The immigration judges at the Houston Service Processing Center (SPC) Immigration Court decide the following types of issues:
- Whether a person should be permitted to enter the United States;
- Whether the person should be removed or deported;
- Whether relief from removal should be given because of an application for a waiver of inadmissibility, cancellation of removal, asylum, or an adjustment of status.
